CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - A Cedar Falls man faces 24 counts of forgery for allegedly stealing thousands from a 77-year-old woman.

52-year-old Robert Allan Gordon was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree theft and 24 counts of forgery.

Gordon is accused of forging and cashing 24 checks to himself between July and August, according to Capt. Craig Berte of the Cedar Falls Police Department.

Berte says the account the checks were written on belongs to the 77-year-old mother of Gordon's girlfriend.

Gordon is accused of stealing more than $37,000.

His trial is scheduled for Dec. 30.
