Today another former Iowa Hawkeye football great was inducted to the America Needs Farmers wall of honor.

Former Hawkeye All-American offensive lineman Bruce Nelson is the latest to see his name added to the list.

Nelson was a tough, hard nosed player with a tremendous work ethic.

Nelson was picked in the second round of 2003 NFL draft by Carolina, and played with the Panthers for two seasons before his career was ended by injury.

Nelson used his NFL money to invest in a farm.

Nelson said, "You know I'm a product of my environment and I grew up on a farm. I do remember in "85 when coach Fry put the sticker on the helmet and I was only a young guy then and I didn't understand the times my parents and grandparents were going through, but I do remember it was special."
