Kids bundle up for Halloween trick-or-treating

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - As families and their little ones head out the door Friday night for trick-or-treating, kids are bound to bundle up on the chilly Halloween night.

Some trick-or-treaters were out in full force Friday afternoon along Main St. in Cedar Falls. Princess wore their mittens and scarves, superheroes were in their winter jackets and parents were trying to stay warm as well.

Moms and dads said they had to get creative to keep their little ones warm, but all the while, not cramp the costumes.

"Mittens, hats, they have their coats underneath their costumes which is new this year. But, that's why we came down here early to Main St., we're here early before the cold," Chris Lampe said.

Other parents said they had their kids wear their pajamas underneath their Halloween costumes to stay warm, while others toted blankets and extra jackets to fight the chill.
