Bill Clinton to stump for Bruce Braley in Waterloo Saturday

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Only four days remain to vote in the 2014 midterm elections.

Candidates in every race are making their final campaign push by bringing big names to the state.

President Bill Clinton will join U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley in Iowa for two events Saturday, Nov. 1.

This isn't the first time Clinton has been to eastern Iowa this year. He and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were at the Harkin Steak Fry in September.

The Bruce, Blues, and BBQ event in Waterloo tomorrow night will have a similar feel.

Chris Schwartz says when he found out Bill Clinton was going to be in Waterloo -- he knew he had to get tickets.

"I've got lots of friends that are going to be here," Schwartz said.

Braley, a candidate for U.S. Senate, and President Clinton will be in Des Moines first, but they'll travel to Waterloo after to host the annual Bruce, Blues, and Barbecue event at Electric Park Ballroom at the National Cattle Congress.

The doors at the Electric Park Ballroom will open at 5:15 p.m. Saturday for the general public, and Clinton will speak shortly after 6 p.m.

Campaign officials say Hillary Clinton will not be in attendance at either of the events.

While Bill Clinton is a big part of this event, Jesse McCunniff says he's really coming to support Braley.

Sgt. McCunniff is a National Guard Member and will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

"It'll be really good to take a breath before the last few days, everyone knocking on doors -- it'll be good to unwind a little bit," McCunniff said.
