The Mark Farley Interview

Rick Coleman: Good Evening I'm Rick Coleman here with UNI head football coach Mark Farley after a very important and critical win at Western Illinois now the Panthers go through a stretch of games facing a couple of unbeaten teams first of all Illinois State this Saturday at the Dome.

Mark Farley: Yeah looking forward to playing them, they're 7-0 and they've got a great quarterback and they have a wide open offense averaging 42 points a game..

Rick: And they have been playing great defense giving up just 12 points a game.

Mark:  It's the offense sets things up for them, but their defense is still aggressive but there's no question their offense sets the tone.

Rick: And the offense with Trey Roberson a transfer from Indiana a duel threat has been playing well running the ball and passing.

Mark: When you cover up the receivers he's got great speed out of the backfield, and he's got a great arm he can throw it 80 yards so he's special.

Rick: You got a chance to prepare for someone like that, because you have someone similar in Brion Carnes and he played well last week against Western Illinois.

Mark: Very pleased with how Brion played he played a controlled game and he made things happen with his feet and arm.

Rick: What are the keys this week against Illinois State?

Mark: Consistency, continue to be consistent. We have to win the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense, and our explosive players have to make plays. When you get in November you have to win in November, you've got to find a way to win these close games.

Rick: Good Luck This Week Coach

Mark: Thank you
