LANCASTER, Wis. (KWWL) - A cut fiber-optic line is affecting land lines and causing major disruption between Lancaster and Platteville in Grant County, Wisconsin, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Facebook page.

Land line calls can't be made between the two towns, and officials report that calls to 911 from cell phones will only hear a busy signal.

Platteville residents are encouraged to call 608-348-2313 if emergency services are needed, according to a tweet from the city of Platteville.

They also added crews are working on the problem at this time.

They did not have a timetable for when service would be restored.
