CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Falls Tigers topped the Dubuque Senior Rams 20-16 to advance in the Class 4A playoffs.

The Tigers got off to a fast start when running back Rodney Hinton took a hand-off 66 yards for a touchdown on their very first play from scrimmage.

Later, Tigers linebacker Jared Halterman intercepted a Lee Bonifas pass and took it 55 yards for a pick six, putting Cedar Falls up 14-3.

Right before the half, Bonifas took a quarterback keeper 55 yards for a score making the score 14-10 at halftime.

Following an interception, the Rams offense scored again when Bonifas found the end zone for a second time, taking another read-option keeper 15 yards for a score, putting his team up 16-14.

Cedar Falls would add another score in the 4th quarter to take the lead and they go on to win by the final of 20-16.

The Tigers move on to play in the second round on Monday, Nov. 3.

The Rams end the season at 5-5.
