PLAYOFFS: Class 3A: West Delaware advances over Dubuque Wahlert

In Class 3A Wednesday, West Delaware hosts Dubuque Wahlert.

The Hawks struck first. Early in the 2nd quarter, West Delaware had the ball on the 1st-and-10 on the Wahlert 18.

Brent Lammers had the quarterback draw as he broke a tackle and wove his way towards the end zone to score on the 18-yard TD run to put the Hawks up 7-0.

Still in the 2nd quarter, West Delaware had the ball again. 1st-and-10 on the Wahlert 33.

Lammers went back to pass and finds a wide-open #16 Max Ridneour as he scores easily on the 33-yard TD pass to put the Hawks up 14-0 after the PAT.

The Hawks again, still in the 2nd quarter on a 1st-and-goal from the one, and it's quarterback Lammers again. He goes right up the gut and crosses the goal line to put the Hawks up 21-0.

Late in the 2nd quarter, after a West Delaware turnover, Wahlert gets on the board. Quarterback Jacob Nemmers rolls to his right and finds #40 Travis Warden and he fights his way into the end zone to score with just under 10 seconds left until the half to make it 21-7 Hawks at halftime.

West Delaware goes on to advance, winning 49-14.
