NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) - A Swisher man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash in North Liberty.

The North Liberty Police Department was called to the intersection of Penn Street and Nathan Avenue at around 5:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of crash between a motorcycle and a truck.

Officers say a truck driven by 36-year-old Michael Werle of North Liberty pulled out in front of two motorcycles.

The motorcycle, driven by 57-year-old Ronald Carson of Swisher, was not able to avoid the crash and collided with the truck.

Carson died on Monday from his injuries. His passenger, Jane Carson of Swisher, is being treated for her injuries at an area hospital.

The other motorcycle was able to avoid the collision. The two people on that motorcycle, James Steinfadt and Vicki Meskimem, both of Blairstown, suffered minor injuries.

No one in the truck was injured.

Werle was ticketed for failure to yield while making a left-hand turn.

The crash remains under investigation.
