WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Independent candidate for U.S. Senate Rick Stewart was in Eastern Iowa campaigning Saturday, as part of his "Lets Talk, Iowa" tour.

He's towing a trailer with him that he calls his mobile living room, and is having cookies with voters.

Stewart is running against Democrat Bruce Braley and Republican Joni Ernst. Also in the race are Bob Quast and Ruth Smith. Douglas Butzier's name will appear on the ballot, though he was killed in a small plane crash just a few weeks ago.

Both Ernst and Braley have huge advantages over Stewart, but he still said he has a chance at his stop in Waterloo.

"I know I believe they are deadlocked, they are gridlocked and they are intent on doing nothing for America, but only doing things for themselves," he said. "Well, there's what, ten days before the election? I've got ten days worth of chances."

According to his website, Stewart believes in eliminating the minimum wage.

He also made stops in Waverly, Toledo and Vinton.
