IOWA CITY (KWWL) -  Iowa linebacker Reggie Spearman has been suspended indefinitely from the football team after being arrested for operating while intoxicated. Spearman was arrested early Saturday morning at the intersection of Burlington and Madison in Iowa City.

"I was disappointed to hear of the charges against Reggie," said Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz in a written statement. "Reggie will face a minimum one game suspension, as well as other consequences within the program. We will work with authorities in gathering all the facts. Reggie will go through the UI Student Athlete Code of Conduct process and we will move forward from there."

The Hawkeye sophomore has registered 34 tackles in 7 games this season.

Iowa is coming off a bye week and will host Northwestern on Saturday.
