Cedar Rapids man wins $10K in Iowa Lottery

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

An eastern Iowa man won $10,000 in the Iowa Lottery's instant-scratch game.

Jerry Ealy, of Cedar Rapids, bought the $10 winning ticket at the Kwik Shop on Center Point Road in Cedar Rapids.

Ealy claimed his cash Monday, and his is the eighth of twenty five $10,000 prizes available in the lottery's "$100,000 Mega Crossword" game.

The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.29.

Iowa Lottery says there are still nine top prizes of $100,000 up for grabs in "$100,000 Mega Crossword," 17 prizes of $10,000, thousands of prizes of $500, $200 and $100, among other cash prizes.

The Iowa Lottery says it's proceeds aim to support veterans and other projects including across the state and repairing schools.
