A candidate for U.S. Senate has been driving through northeast Iowa all day Monday and inviting voters in for free cookies.

Rick Stewart, who is on the ballot as the Independent candidate for U.S. Senate, is driving through several towns with his custom-built and painted "Let's Talk, Iowa" tour trailer.

Stewart, a Cedar Rapids resident, was in West Union at 10 a.m. He'll also make stops in Elkader at noon at 111 High St. NE, in Waukon at 2 p.m., at 110 Alamakee St., in Decorah at 4 p.m. at 201 W. Main St. and in Cresco at 6 p.m. at 137 Elm St.

During his tour, Stewart's campaign said they will have free homemade cookies and invite voters inside to discuss the issues.

Stewart's campaign trailer was designed by Iowa cartoonist Kira Layli, according to Stewart's campaign.
