Shots fired hit vehicle in Iowa City overnight

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Iowa City Police arrested one man after responding to multiple gunshots heard early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the area of Market St. and Madison St. around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they found two females standing outside of a vehicle that had been shot multiple times. The women were not hurt.

Officers identified the suspect as Fabian Miniel of Davenport. After fleeing the area, Miniel was then located and arrested at 1330 2nd St. in Coralville.

A pistol and ammunition were also recovered from the residence. Miniel was charged with Reckless Use of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm as a Felon. Additionally, he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from Illinois for a drug-related offense.
