CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - A 17-year-old boy has been charged after firing shots in a Cedar Rapids alley on Wednesday.

Greg Buelow, spokesperson for the Cedar Rapids Police Department, says officers were called to the alley in the 1000 block of 10th Street SE at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of four to five shots fired.

Buelow says officers found at least one shell casing in the area.

Once on scene, officers found three boys in the 800 block of 15th Street SE that matched the description of the suspects involved.

Buelow says officers found one of the boys, 17-year-old Caleb Celichowski, had a handgun in his waistband. He is charged with carrying weapons, reckless use of a firearm and third degree theft.

He was taken to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center.
