In 2013, McDonald's customer's donated nearly $52 million in small change and bills through the RMHC donation boxes alone. One hundred percent of the funds from the donation boxes at McDonald's stores across Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois stay local, providing Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois (RMHC-EIWI) the ability to fulfill its programs. In the first nine months of 2014, RMHC-EIWI received nearly $150,000 from the local McDonald's donation boxes.
