The mother of a first-grader killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting will bring her message of safer communities to Dubuque.
Nicole Hockley's son, Dylan, was one of 20 children killed at the Newtown, Conn. school on Dec. 14, 2012. Six teachers were also killed. Now, she tours the country speaking about gun violence, and advocating for tougher gun control laws.
She will speak at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the Marie Graber ballroom on Loras College campus. The event is sponsored by the Dubuque Coalition for Nonviolence and with the Fr. Ray Herman Peace and Justice Center. It will be free and open to all.
Leslie Hospitality owner Edwin Leslie says he doesn't have anything to hide, and to prove it he invited the public to view all of the documents, emails, agreements, and financial statements related to the deal at a public meeting this morning.
