2 seriously injured after high-speed crash in St. Donatus

Two people are seriously injured following a high-speed rollover crash Saturday on St. Donatus.

Rachel Griffith, 18, of Clinton, and passenger Riley Stephens of Fulton, Ill., were taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque for incapacitating injuries, according to the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday on U.S. 52 near mile marker 36.

Griffith was driving south of U.S. 52 at a high rate of speed and lost control, entering the left ditch and rolling the vehicle multiple times, according to the Dubuque County Sheriff's report.

The report stated Griffith also admitted to deputies she was driving as fast as 90 miles per hour before the crash.

Griffith was cited with failure to maintain control and speeding.
