Kevin Vereen picked up 87 reception yards and 1 touchdown as UNI used a strong second half to surge past South Dakota 27-16.

The Panthers trailed through much of the first half after the Coyotes opened the scoring with a 17 yard touchdown run from Trevor Bouma.

UNI went scoreless through the first quarter, but managed to get on the scoreboard with a Michael Schmadeke field goal midway through the second. They later found the end zone after Brion Carnes finished a 55 yard drive with a 28 yard touchdown pass to Vereen for a 3 point halftime lead.

Following a third quarter interception, UNI used a short field as David Johnson capped a quick drive with a one yard touchdown run. The Panthers would put it away in the 4th with Sawyer Kollmorgen back at quarterback. Kollmorgen hit a wide open Daurice Fountain on a 15 yard touchdown pass for a late 27-16 lead.

Kollmorgen led UNI's passing attack completing 7 of 16 passes for 154 yards and 1 touchdown.
