Solon rips Maquoketa 42-0

Posted: Updated:
SOLON (KWWL) -

The Solon Spartans have been riding a wave of victories. Their only loss has come at the hands of a powerful Cedar Rapids Xavier team.

Before Friday night, the Spartans had a record of five wins and only one loss.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have the Cardinals of Maquoketa, who have hit tough times and came to Solon with only one win and five losses.

In the first quarter, the Cardinals' defense would be stingy. But Spartans quarterback Brandon Childs would open things up with a pass to Jacob Coons, who was waiting in the corner of the end zone.

With the extra point, Solon would go seven to nothing at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Childs would show off some fancy footwork by breaking tackles and finding Trevor Yahr in the end zone.

Solon rolls to a 42-0 victory.
