Hawkeyes brace for Indiana's up-tempo offense

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - The Indiana Hoosier offense will present the Iowa defense with a unique set of problems on Saturday.

Indiana runs an up-tempo offense with a great emphasis on running the football.

The Hoosiers rank in the top ten nationally in rushing the football -- and the Hawkeyes must find a way to slow the them down.

"Obviously, we have got to stop their offense," said Iowa defensive tackle Louis Trinca-Pasat. "If an offense gets in rhythm, we just have to play stout on defense."

"We're up against a very tough opponent -- they're eighth in the country rushing the ball, and have 300 yards a game rushing it," Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said. "That's maybe a misconception about them is that they're a throwing team. They throw the ball really well, they run it well. They're tempo offense. They really make it tough and they're playing better on defense than they did a year ago, and that is the biggest difference right now with this football team."

The Hawks and Indiana kick it off Saturday at 11 am.
