UNI to host fundraiser to fight domestic violence

The UNI Masters in Public Policy Program will host a dinner reception and fundraiser Friday night, October 10, to benefit the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

The event in the Slife Ballroom at UNI will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will raise funds for public advocacy efforts to aid victims of domestic violence and the dedicated people who serve them in Iowa.

The evening will feature a formal dinner, cash bar silent auction and opera performances by Soprano, Geraldine McMillian, and Tenor, Willie Morales.

The fundraiser begins with a cocktail hour at 6:30, following by dinner and performances at 7:15.

The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a non-profit organization which responds to the needs of battered women, men, children and other victims of domestic violence. Its mission is to engage all people in a movement to change the social and political systems that perpetuate violence against women through education, advocacy and quality services.
