IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Two members of the Iowa Flyers Swim Club (IFLY) have qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

Fourteen-year-old Ruby Martin and 16-year-old Aiden Keen are two of three swimmers in Iowa to have made the Olympic trial cuts so far.

“They embody the quintessential traits that any coach would want in an athlete; focus, discipline, hard work, and dedication to the sport of swimming,"said IFLY's head coach, Robert Pinter.

"Their achievements come as no surprise to the coaches, and we know qualifying for the Olympic trials is only the first of many accomplishments to come.”

Throughout the year, Martin and Keen will compete in various National Championships, as well as the Arena Grand Prix Series, competitions that draw Olympians and USA National team members.
