PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -

The Union Knights accomplished something no one had done before. The Knights became the first team to ever shut out the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons on their home field with Friday's 37-0 win in Parkersburg. The last time an opposing team shut out the home squad at the Sacred Acre occurred in 1989, when the Parkersburg Crusaders fell to East Buchanan.

Union did it with a balanced attack through much of the night. Sophomore Isaiah Vaughn led the ground game rushing for 241 yards. That included touchdown runs of 74 and 83 yards.

Through the air, quarterback John Boisen threw for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns. Two of the scoring strikes went to senior tight end Dylan Bear.

With the win, the Knights took sole possession of first in class 2A, district 6, as the only remaining undefeated team in district play.
