Two fifth-ranked teams in District 3 were at battle with each other Friday night to maintain their polished records.
Class A Nashua-Plainfield hosted Class 1A St. Ansgar, but the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies weren't able to use their home field advantage to start off the game.
The St. Ansgar Saints were the first team to reach their end zone, as Scott Sievert fought his way in for a touchdown to put the first points on the board.
After a successful goal kick, the Saints lead the Huskies 7 to 0.
The Huskies looked to get some points up on the board for themselves. They were able to gain some yardage after a long pass from quarterback Jordan Klingman to Jason Fisher, who goes down near the 20-yard line.
Klingman then delivered a sneaky pass to Reece Reams, who was able to drive it into their end zone for a touchdown.
After the two-point conversion comes up short, the Huskies still trail 6 to 7.
The Saints get to ball back and after a 59-yard run, they are able to make it in for one last touchdown and a successful goal kick before going into halftime leading 14 to 6.
At the end of the game, only one team's undefeated record would remain.
St. Ansgar ended that for Nashua-Plainfield, defeating them 27 to 14.
