Clear Lake is number one in Class 2A after dropping down from 3A this year, and has won its first five games by an average of 32 points per contest.
Waverly-Shell Rock is ranked seventh in Class 3A and enters the night 4-1, with the Go-Hawks only defeat coming from 3rd ranked West Delaware. Keep in mind though, Clear Lake beat Waverly-Shell Rock twice last year.

Next drive, W-SR was looking to return fire. The pass play fell apart, but thanks to some good scramble from Jake Velky, they picked up the first down.
W-SR would find a lot of success in the shotgun formation. A big throw hit Joe McNally early in the first quarter.
Some chilly fans braved the cold, but it didn't freeze their enthusiasm.
Velky spent a lot of time scrambling in the backfield while his offensive line fell to pieces.
A late first-quarter series had Velky hitting Dalton Graven repeatedly for moderate gains. The culmination -- a big huck into the back corner of the end zone -- came down out of bounds.

The night ended with lots of close calls for W-SR, but Clear Lake rolled them 27-6.
