DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The 22nd annual Tri-State's Largest Chili Cook-Off will take place in Dubuque on Saturday.

The cook-off transforms Dubuque's historic Cable Care Square on Bluff Street in Dubuque into an aromatic chili tasting competition. The event will also feature live music, beer, kids games, food and entertainment.

Chili cooks looking to compete in the competition can do so in a variety of divisions.

The Chili Association Society International competition follows a strict set of rules which delineates what ingredients are necessary and which are prohibited. The association also provides guidelines for tasting and judging the competition.

Cooks can sign up in advance at Calico Bean at 352 Bluff Street or at the event the morning of the Cook-Off.

If you would like to sample any of the chilies during the chili cook-off, you can purchase a sampling spoon at $5 beginning at 1 p.m.
