Iowa City neighborhood plans Halloween costume sale

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) - To help raise funds to renovate a neighborhood park, a neighborhood association in Iowa City is holding a Halloween costume sale.

The Lucas Farms Neighborhood Association is helping organize the costume sale to raise money for the renovations to Highland Park.

Highland Park is a 0.4 acre neighborhood park located at the corner of Keokuk Street and Highland Avenue. The renovations include a shelter, playground equipment and landscaping.

The sale will be held daily from Oct. 13-30 from noon to 6 p.m. in the storefront located next to Radio Shack in the Iowa City Marketplace (formally Sycamore Mall).

The sale will include costumes for adults and children. Full costumes will be available to purchase along with starter pieces and accessories. Prices will range from $1 to around $30 and include historical, fictional and pop-culture figures.

Donations for the sale may be dropped off at the storefront Sunday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. and during daily store hours of noon to 6 p.m. through the end of sale. Volunteers are also needed to assist with set-up and help with daily sale hours.
