Texas Governor Rick Perry visits Iowa

Posted: Updated:

Texas governor and possible 2016 presidential candidate Rick Perry is in Iowa.

First he'll headline a campaign event Friday for State Rep. Pat Grassley, then Friday evening Perry will deliver the keynote address at the Northwest Iowa Republican Fundraising Dinner, hosted by the O'Brien County Republican Party.

On his swing through the area, Governor Perry visited the KWWL building in downtown Waterloo.
He's not ruling out a bid for the White House.  When asked about his aspirations for 2016, Perry told Ron Steele, "If I make a decision to not run, it won't be because I wasn't prepared."

Perry also talked about the man being treated for Ebola in Texas.
"We wish [the disease] would have never come, but if it had to be in a place, Texas is probably as prepared as any in the nation to deal with it," citing his state's past response to other emergencies.

You can see Rick Perry's full interview with Ron Steele on The Steele Report on KWWL Sunday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m.
