CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cedar Rapids firefighters are selling t-shirts to raise money in an effort to support local cancer survivors and to bring awareness.

Cedar Rapids Fire Department members are selling T-shirts to raise money for Mercy Medical Center's Especially for You Fund during October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The pink shirts say, “Smoke detectors aren't the only thing that need to be checked once a month.”

A shirt costs $20 and can be purchased at the Central Fire Station, 713 1st Avenue SE, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Next week the shirts can also be purchased online at www.crfirefoundation.org.

You'll see firefighters sporting the t-shirts for the rest of the month.
