WASHINGTON (KWWL) -

A woman who ran in in-home day care will serve four days in prison after she admitted to tying children to car seats during naptime.

Debra Crawford, 48, of Washington was sentenced Wednesday in Washington County court on four counts of child endangerment.

She was sentenced to two years in prison and a $625 fine for each count, but the judge suspended all but four days of that sentence and placed Crawford on supervised probation for two years.

Crawford is not allowed to own. operate or work in a childcare facility during that time.

Up until May 12, Crawford ran an in-home day care.

A child told her mother she was being tied to a chair during nap time. Mothers then demanded to see their children during nap time and witnessed children in car seats.

The mothers claimed the seats were much too small for the children.

According to a news release, Crawford later told investigators than she began using car seats about six months before parents found out.
