The holiday hiring season is upon us.  For those looking for work, there are a number of jobs out there.

Major U.S. stores will add over 800,000 temporary jobs this fall and winter. That's the most since 1999.

Kohl's plans to hire more than 67,000 people this holiday season.  They say about an average of 50 associates will be hired per store. They will also be hiring at their distribution center and credit operations.

Macy's plans to hire about 86,000 seasonal holiday workers nationwide for its stores, call centers and distribution hubs, a 3.6 percent increase from last year.

Toys-R-Us is also looking to hire 45,000 people during the busy holiday season.  The company says this would double its workforce.  Also their season employees will get training and work between 16 to 20 hours a week.

Target is looking for 70,000 people nationwide.

Walmart also plans to hire 60,000 seasonal workers, that is up ten percent from 2013.  According to company officials, current employees who would like to work additional hours will get priority for holiday jobs.

The added employment is in anticipation of increased spending during the holiday season.
