WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (KWWL) -

Iowa senior Mark Weisman hit a milestone topping 2,000 rushing yards for his career in Saturday's win at Purdue. He's now the 7th Hawkeye in history to reach the milestone.

Weisman led Iowa the game with 76 yards on the ground including a pair of touchdowns. While he was proud of the career accomplishment, his main focus afterward was on getting better.

"We've just got to keep improving. We're definitely not as consistent as we'd like to be," said Weisman, "The offense has got to put more points and and be more consistent."

Senior offensive lineman, Brandon Scherff, who contributed to the accomplishment agreed. "Anytime he can reach a milestone like that, it's great for him, and it feels good as an offensive line, but we've got to keep pushing.

The milestone seemed unlikely considering the senior initially transferred to Iowa from Air Force as a fullback, but was forced in to the tailback rotation due to mounting injuries.
