Family says justice needs to be served in Cedar Falls Homicide

Posted: Updated:

An Eastern Iowa family is pleading for help, hoping to finding their loved one's killer.

It's been nearly four months since Norman Gant was shot and killed in a quiet Cedar Falls neighborhood.

Life for Laniya Keys will never be the same without her little brother.

"I miss going to his room in the morning, waking him up. I miss my kids running into his room waking him up. I miss him walking through the door," said Keys.

Gant was the youngest of seven children and celebrated his 21st birthday a few months before he was shot and killed on Tremont Street in Cedar Falls.

Captain Craig Berte with the Cedar Falls Police Department says there's not real new information in this case, but says they continue to follow up on new leads and question people.

Keys says all her family can do is pray every day for someone to come forward, and says it bothers her the killer is still on the loose.

"Like all these houses being shot up. Who knows if that person shooting up all these houses is the one that did this to my brother."

She says justice needs to be served in her brother case.

Anyone with any new information is asked to call Cedar Falls Police at 319-273-8612 or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers at 855-300-8477.
