Hawks head home with a win over Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (KWWL) - The University of Iowa Hawkeyes ended up beating the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday with a final score of 24-10. The Hawks are now 4-1.

The two teams kicked off at 11 a.m. in Lafayette, IN. Purdue managed an interception with about 4:30 left in the first quarter, leading to the first touchdown of the game. The Boilermakers sustained the lead, making it 10-0 going into the second quarter.

The Hawks then caught up, as running back Mark Weisman made a touchdown, leading to a score of 10-7. Just before halftime, Iowa kicked a field goal to make it a tie game.

In the third quarter, Iowa took the lead for the first time in the game with a touchdown pass caught by Hawkeye Martin-Manlyey. Iowa then plowed further ahead of the Boilermakers to 24-10, after Mark Weisman completed his second touchdown of the game.

The Hawks left Ross-Ade Stadium with a win over Purdue; 24-10 was the final score.
