The Union Knights entered Week 5 after handing South Tama its first loss of the season in a 35-30 shootout last week. East Marshall was trying to seek its first win of the year.
It was homecoming for the Union Knights, with the future looking bright and the present off to a great start in District 6 play in Class 2A.
The Knights took to defense first, and East Marshall ran into a wall.
Second down and ten, and the Knights force and recover a fumble at the East Marshall 35-yard line. Four plays later from the East Marshall 20-yard line, John Boisen drops back and finds #23 Tate Hadacheck wide open on the left side, and he takes it into the end zone untouched for the touchdown.
The extra point was good and the Knights go up 7-0.
East Marshall went four and out, gaining only four yards against the very tough defense.
The Knights take over on their 37-yard line and run a reverse pass play, #1 Brady Driscol finds Tate Hadacheck wide open in the center of the field and he takes off for his second touchdown of the night, putting the Knights on top 13-0. The extra point is good, making it 14-0 Union.
East Marshall would punt it back to the Knights, and it's Boisen handing it off to their work horse, #2 Isaiah Vaughan. He takes off down the left side leaping his way to a 15-yard run.
Two plays later, Boisen hands off to Vaughn and he leaps again, but this time into the end zone for the touchdown. 20-zero Knights, the extra point made it 21-zip Union.
East Marshall simply had no answer for the Knights offense. Union would make it 27-zero after Noah Garwood would run it right up the middle for the touchdown. The extra point was good and it was 28-zero Knights with four minutes left in the second.
Union goes on to win this one, rolling 'em 49-0.
