Haunted Attraction offers CR guests a scare

Posted: Updated:
On September 25th, Circle of Ash Haunted Attraction will open in Cedar Rapids for twenty dates from September through Halloween Weekend.

Three shows, a special kids' matinee, and a brand new attraction experience await the chills and screams of the thousands of guests that are expected.

“This is one of the longest and busiest calendars we have planned. Our customers have come to expect us to expand what we can do, so that is exactly what we have done.” Explained Brad Peterson, Lead Set Designer. “We will provide more scares to our customers.”

“The Haunt” will take over the weekends, starting this Saturday, September 27th and running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through November 1st.

“This isn't your ‘run-of-the-mill' haunted house, but it is our normal. We have 50-60 people on our active roster for this show. Operations staff, make-up artists, security, ticket takers, and many great actors are all ready to hit this season running. A lot of time and talent will be on exhibition and we know it won't go unnoticed by the customers.” Said Matt Rairden, Construction Supervisor, a Member of Circle of Ash.

“Lockdown” will make its return on November 2nd. Lockdown Haunted House is a haunted house attraction that is meant to be thrilling, scary, and traumatizing. It is not intended for any youth. No one under 18 years of age will be admitted, and the company insists patrons must go through the haunt alone, in total darkness.

“A waiver signed by each customer for Lockdown allows us to push the boundaries, to explore a realm that cannot otherwise be done in a haunted house. It's also unique to the area.” Said Chelsea Haugh, lead Makeup Designer for Circle of Ash.

“Halloween Homicide” is a murder mystery event scheduled for October 15th and 22nd. “It is like a live-action version of the board game, ‘Clue'. The customers will be able to investigate clues, interview witnesses, and come up with their own conclusion as to who committed a murder.

“Journey's End” is the newest addition to the Circle of Ash, live-action simulator designed to let you experience your own burial. After being placed in a tight coffin, the customers will feel and hear what it may be like to be interred.

Circle of Ash is an all-volunteer organization, with the company producing a number of shows annually.
