Officers say goodbye to fallen comrade

Law enforcement officers from all across Iowa converged on Cedar Falls Wednesday to pay tribute and say goodbye to a fallen comrade,

Officers joined family and friends at Prairie Lakes Church to attend the funeral of Waterloo Police officer, Monty J. Frana, who died at his home In Cedar Falls last Friday. He was 43.

Monty Frana was a Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputy, before Joining the Waterloo Police Department In 1996. He was promoted To Lieutenant In 2011, in charge of the second shift.

He was also a member of the Waterloo Police Tactical Unit, and the Waterloo Police Department's Bearcat armored vehicle was the hearse for the funeral.

Monty Frana was buried in Fairview Cemetery.

KWWL offers sincere Condolences to the Frana. He is survived at home by his wife, Andrea, also a Waterloo Police officer, and his two daughters.
