American Cancer Society hosts Pack the Bus for Hope Lodge

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Local American Cancer Society volunteers will be collecting goods for the 4th-annual Pack the Bus for Hope Lodge effort for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Iowa City beginning on Oct. 1.

There are 31 Hope Lodges across the country that offer free loading to cancer patients and a caregiver when they have to travel at least 40 miles or more away for their treatment.

Every year the donation drive gives the facility items that are used on a daily basis, like paper towels, hand soap and cleaning products to help the facility save money and show support for cancer patients.

The American Cancer Society will begin collecting donations for the drive beginning Oct. 1 and ending on Oct. 20, when the items will be taken down to Iowa City.
