Final Thursday Reading Series to Feature Bruce Whiteman

Posted: Updated:

The James & Meryl Hearst Center for the Arts will host its last Reading Series on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m in Cedar Falls.

This month's featured author is Canadian-American poet Bruce Whiteman. Currently a resident of Grinnell, Whitman will release and sign his newest collection of poetry, "Intimate Letters: The Invisible World Is in Decline, Book VII."

Whiteman is a translator and reviewer with more than a dozen books to his credit, including "Tristia" and "The Forger Contemplates Rossetti."

Organizers say the program provides a place where local writers can share their own work at an open mic. Participants are invited to share their best five minutes of original writing.

This event is free and open to the public. More information is available on the Hearst Center website at
