Cedar Rapids Police investigate shots fired; two in custody

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cedar Rapids Police said Sunday morning they are investigating a case of shots fired that happened Saturday night.

Police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday near McKinley St. and Fifth Ave. SE in Cedar Rapids. They say officers were already in the area when they heard gunfire.

According to police, one vehicle was involved, and police arrested and charged the driver with a traffic offense and a narcotics charge. The passenger in the vehicle was a juvenile, and was arrested on a weapons offense; police say they recovered a gun.

No one was injured, and police say there are no reports of property damage at this time.
