Union rallies to beat South Tama, 35-30

LA PORTE CITY (KWWL) - In a Class 2A District 6 match-up, South Tama visited Union.

The Trojans would strike first. A 31-yard run by Cody Kellogg would set up a 2-yard TD run by Jerry Lowe. South Tama up 7-0.

They would do it again, this time from long distance. Dalton Doyle throwing deep to Colson Frakes streaking down the sideline for a 78-yard score and a 14-0 lead.

Union would fight back. Brady Driscol found Dylan Bear for 21 yards.

That set up a 30-yard field goal by Dakota Hora to cut the lead to 14-3.

Then John Boisen took over at QB and Driscol at WR. They would connect on a 39-yard TD.

After a missed 2-point conversion, the score was 14-9.

South Tama would get the final score of the first half on a 23-yard field goal by Adrian Castanon. That would make it 17-9 at the half.

But Union would come back to win a close one in the second half. The final: 35-30.
