Waterloo West took advantage of turnovers and played well on special teams to roll past Mason City for the Wahawks first win of the season, 33-13.

The Wahawks scored first on homecoming as Day John Draine took an inside hand off for a long TD run to make it 7-0 Wahawks.

The Mohawks would answer back, converting a 4th-and-1 as Alex Hemmen connected with Alex Wiman in the end zone to tie the game at 7.

After a 39-yard Adijan Muhamedagic field goal put the Wahawks up 10-7, West continued rolling as QB Devon Moore scored two rushing TDs to put West up 24-7 at the half.

The Wahawks held on in the 2nd half to put away Mason City 33-13.
