There was certainly plenty of hype leading up to this game, but in the end, it failed to live up to it.
After going down 7-0 when Cedar Rapids Washington returned a blocked punt, Linn-Mar starts a nice drive when Ryan Schmidt connects with Daniel Gorsich for a 33-yard completion.
But the Lions would have to settle for three when Alexy Boehm hits a 41-yard field goal. 7-3 Warriors after one quarter.
In the second quarter, Washington takes control. Landen Akers gets the ball, finds a seam and breaks it open for a 73-yard run all the way down to the 1-yard line.
A procedure penalty pushes them back a few yards, but Johnny Dobbs finds pay dirt a few plays later with a 2-yard run. 14-3 Cedar Rapids.
Then, after a Lions fumble, the Warriors' Tavian Patrick rumbles off a 38-yard TD run to make it 21-3 Warriors, still in the second quarter.
And the Warriors aren't done. Sean Zimmerman tries to punt for Linn-Mar and bobbles the ball. He tries to get the kick off anyway and it gets blocked.
Washington's Isaiah Nimmers picks it up and rumbles about 50 yards for the score to put the Warriors up 28-3. Zimmerman was shaken up on the play, but would walk off the field under his own power.
Washington has the ball again, and this time Reid Snitker calls his own number and takes the QB sneak 48 yards down to the one-yard line.
That's where Johnny Dobbs does his thing and scores his second touchdown of the night from one yard out. 35-3 Washington.
Finally, with less than 50 seconds to go in the half, Snitker on defense picks off the Ryan Schmidt pass and returns it 20 yards for the score. Washington would get the 2-point conversion after a bad snap to make it 43-3 Washington at half.
That would be your final, 43-3 Cedar Rapids Washington over Linn-Mar.
