CENTRAL CITY (KWWL) -

A spokesperson for the Canadian National Railway confirms that a train has derailed near Ford Road in Central City.

Patrick Waldron with Canadian National says nine cars, including box cars and hopper cars, went off the tracks at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

He says the cars were carrying agricultural and forest products.

Waldron says the Canadian National train was headed north on Canadian National's tracks from Cedar Rapids to Manchester.

No injuries have been reported, and Waldron tells KWWL that there were no hazardous materials on any of the cars.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
