UPDATE: 5 injured after Greenhill, Rownd crash in Cedar Falls

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - Five people were taken to the hospital after the car they were in turned in front of another car on Greenhill Road Thursday morning in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls Police, Fire and Sartori Paramedics were called to the intersection of Greenhill Road and Rownd Street near Valley Lutheran School just before 8 a.m. Thursday on a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries and people trapped.

Police say a Dodge Journey was eastbound on Greenhill Road approaching the intersection with Rownd Street. A Pontiac Montana was traveling westbound on Greenhill and attempting a lefthand turn onto Rownd when it pulled into the path of the Dodge.

The Pontiac rolled over and "several" occupants were trapped in that vehicle, according to Cedar Falls Police. Those occupants were removed by Cedar Falls Fire with the Jaws of Life.

A total of two adults and three children inside the Pontiac were taken by ambulance to an unnamed hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge had minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.

Police are not releasing names of the injured at this time.
