Friends remembers Ingrid and Linda months after their deaths

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Those who knew Ingrid Huber Livingston are glad they were able to meet the woman.

"Everybody that met her loved her, because she just had that welcoming feeling and a great big smile and just made you feel good," said Laurie Gustafson, Livingston's friend. "She was just always very kind to everybody."

She probably got it from her mother, Linda Huber.

"She loved to talk," said Gustafson. "She would talk to you all night long if she got your ear. She would talk to you. She was very nice."

Ingrid had just moved in with her mother, Linda, when both were killed by Ingrid's husband in January.

Cedar Rapids police say that Ingrid's husband Robert Drew Livingston, 47, came in and killed his wife and mother-in-law before turning the gun on himself.

"Absolutely shocked, I mean, it was such a surreal feeling because those things don't happen to people you know," said Gustafson.

She says the relationship between husband and wife was strained.

"It was hard because she was so large, you know, everybody loved her and she had so many connections and she had a great job," said Gustafson. "She had great friends and he kind of, he didn't."

Friends want to remember the two women. One combined their names and created

Others have run with the Ingda idea and use it in other ways.

There's an I Am Ingda 5K on Saturday. The money raised will help support Ingrid's two daughters, who now live with a relative. Some of the money will go to the Horizons Survivor's Program, which helps people who have lost a loved one to homicide or vehicular homicide.

The 5K will be held at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
