AMES (KWWL) -  Iowa State senior offensive lineman Jacob Gannon returned to Iowa State's roster just under 2 weeks after leaving the team. At the time, Gannon cited personal reasons for his departure.

In a statement announcing his return, Gannon elaborated on his reason for leaving.

"I have been recently diagnosed with anxiety," said Gannon, "I am receiving treatment for my condition and I am looking forward to being a part of the football team. I want to thank Coach Rhoads and my teammates for their support."

"We are glad Jacob is back with the Cyclone football family," added coach Paul Rhoads in a released statement, "We are behind Jacob 100 percent and will continue to support him throughout the process."

Gannon, and Iowa City native, started for Iowa State in their week one loss to North Dakota State. He also started 8 games in the 2013 season.
