Netten, Morrissey Earn Big 12 Honors

Posted: Updated:
AMES (KWWL) -   Iowa State's Cole Netten and Cory Morrissey each earned Big 12 honors for their contributions in the Cy-Hawk rivalry over the weekend.

Netten was a bit of a no-brainer for the special teams player of the week. The sophomore kicker hit a career long 47 yard field goal in the first half, but it was his second kick that got the most attention. Netten split the uprights from 42 yards with 2 seconds remaining pushing Iowa State to a 20-17 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Morrissey earned the conference's weekly defensive honor. The senior defensive end tallied 7 tackles, including 3 for loss and 2 sacks. He currently stands second in the Big 12 with 3.5 sacks on the season.
