CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Cedar Rapids police have released the name of the man killed in a crash at the Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

Police say John Pickart, 68, of Norway was killed in the wreck.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. Saturday during the Race 'Em or Wreck 'Em event.

Officers say Pickart was driving a motor home, which overturned on the track. The motor home was participating in the school bus race.

Police say there will be no charges filed as this was determined to be a sporting event accident.

"During last nights Race' Em and Wreck' Em event at Hawkeye Downs, there was an accident that resulted in fatal injuries to a driver / participant," said Hawkeye Downs in a statement on its Facebook page Sunday.
